The Day the Earth Stood Still

My friend and I just saw the movie 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' last week. We had been waiting to see it since about a month ago.
As we came out of the cinema, he and I very much like to talk about the movie that we had just seen, and he told me that What it MEANT to say in the story was really good, meaning that the 'morale of the story' was good, but HOW the story was represented isn't as good as the idea of the story. And we both agreed on that...

I think, personally, especially from an 'alien' kind of movies, we would've expected that it would have so many 'cool effects' or at least seeing more intense storyline. But from the beginning till the end, I didn't see any scene that could make us stunned. And one thing I find it rather odd is that the aliens are in 'man' like body shapes, which made it not 'so real', for those who have been following alien movies, they would know better that if there really are aliens out there, it is very not likely that they have same body image as us humans.

But looking at the 'morale' of the story that telling us about our 'dying' world is really a good idea, and something that we really should have an 'open eye' on the subject. We, for so many years, have realized that our earth is dying, and yet, still nobody really doing anything much about it to help the earth from dying. We all realized that the energy that we consumed everyday have been extracted from our own planet. And we also have tried in so many ways to tell each other that we have to save our planet. From the harsh ways like those in GreenPeace, to a subtle and nice way of telling us humans with a storyline from a movie, still couldn't move our heart to do something better for our own earth.

I think it is time for us to start doing something about it.
I have an old friend told me once... 'If not now, then when? If not you, then who?'

Save our planet!
